Additional Information

EMB Consultancy LLP (formerly English Matthews Brockman) was formed by the merger in August 1997 of English Wright & Brockman, a specialist non-life actuarial consultancy, and Matthews Consultants, a specialist reinsurance consultancy. As a result, we have expertise in all areas of non-life insurance, in particular, pricing, reserving, and reinsurance.

OVERSEAS COMPANIES AND AFFILIATES: -

EMB Deutschland

Based in Cologne, EMB Deutschland is run jointly by Dr Knut Schaefer and Mr Frank Sommerfeld, both qualified actuaries. The Cologne office has a large measure of operational independence, and offers the full range of EMB consultancy services in all aspects of pricing, reserving, reinsurance optimisation and dynamic financial analysis.

EMB America LLCEMB

America LLC provides a full range of non-life actuarial services with a particular emphasis on value added activities such as pricing, financial modelling and strategic consultancy. It is headed up by Tom Hettinger and Dave Otto, both qualified and experienced actuaries. Geoff Werner, a qualified actuary, joins the company in San Antonio as a senior consultant.

Quantum - EMB

Quantum was founded in 2000 by Paul Duffy, who previously worked as senior non-life actuarial manager at Hibernian. His deputy Tom Donlon joined later from Trowbridge, the Australian subsidiary of Deloitte & Touche. They have experience across the entire non-life and quantitative risk management spectrum. Lateral thinking, rigorous analysis and absolute impartiality of advice are the core elements that underlie Quantum's philosophy in devising solutions for clients.

The Quantium Group

Quantium, formed in October 2002, is a young, dynamic company based in Sydney. It has already secured a strong client base including four of the five largest Australian general insurers. Its principal shareholders are Greg Schneider and Adam Drussi, who have years of experience in providing actuarial, analytical and statistical services. It is at the forefront of helping clients respond to the new regulatory environment that came in after the recent well publicized insurance and reinsurance failures.
