Coutts Sponsors AirSP Cocktail Reception - 2008-05-02
On Wednesday 30th April Coutts Bank generously sponsored a cocktail reception for AirSP members and their guests at the Coutts premises at 440 The Strand.
A small group was treated to a tour of the building and an entertaining history of the Coutts family. Tracy, a Coutts archivist, began by recounting the development of the architect designed premises occupied by Coutts since the 1970’s. In what became apparent was true Coutts tradition as much as possible had been transported from the previous premises at 59 The Strand including wallpaper and flooring in addition to furniture, portraits and historical artefacts. This helped to preserve a fascinating insight into the life of the Coutts family which was peppered with family feuding, insanity and some surprising marriages!
The main event began at 6pm and around 50 guests from a wide range of Companies were served beautifully prepared canapés together with wine and soft drinks.
Anthony Barrable of Coutts welcomed all present and gave a short talk on Coutts’ longstanding involvement with the Insurance Industry. He then spoke favourably about the Association and confirmed that Coutts are to be our newest member.
Peter Matthews, AirSP Chairman, thanked Coutts for sponsoring the evening and gave a brief outline of AirSP’s forthcoming events.
Guests continued socialising and enjoying the very convivial atmosphere until well into the evening so a thoroughly successful occasion all round!
