AirSP - Association Of Insurance & Reinsurance Service Providers

PRESS RELEASE - AirSP Numbers Grow - 2009-07-13

AirSP is now in its 6th Year and has established itself as a recognised market association for the benefit of professional service providers in the Insurance and Reinsurance arena.

Christmas 2008 marked the end of a busy year which saw numbers reach a target of 50. This followed a successful campaign to build on the key elements of the Association’s objectives - networking and information sharing. With a pricing structure that is transparent, fair and extremely competitive the steady increase in member numbers needs no explanation.

Quality not quantity remains the basis for recruiting new members. The aim is to continue to steadily strengthen the base of services offered and expand the geographical range of members by demonstrating the value of AirSP membership to trusted professionals who can bring real benefit to the Association.

KPMG’s Insurance Solutions team is a recent and very welcome addition to the membership and the first major accountancy firm to join AirSP. As a leading UK provider of professional Accountancy skills in both the Run–Off sector and the live market with a wealth of knowledge and experience, KPMG further enriches the skill set of AirSP as an outsourcing solution to the wider market.

For clients looking for expertise in traditional services AirSP offers a choice of provider in most areas. In the legal arena, for instance, there are a number of highly regarded firms including the newly formed Carter Perry Bailey in the UK and others in the US. We are also well represented in the areas of Actuarial advice, Broker replacement, Claims management, Commutations, Inspections, Reinsurance Recoveries and Worldwide Debt collection and purchase.

Right from the beginning one of the main aims of AirSP was to support the smaller independent specialist and to provide them with a networking and marketing facility for a very modest annual outlay. Small organisations and sole trader Consultants make up a significant proportion of the membership and provide valuable niche services to other larger members and to the wider market. Recently joined are Giampaolo Bianchini (MGPI GCV), Helo Insurance services and BIOLAP which offer a varied range of expertise.

Like Giampaolo who is based in Brussels we have many consultants based across Europe with both multilingual and culture specific skills. Among these are Robert Curotto, an American lawyer living part time in Italy specialising in the resolution of contract/coverage/recovery issues in the challenging Italian market and Martin Judson in France who provides technical Reinsurance services including inspection of records, audits and Arbitration.

Further afield and in addition to the US, AirSP is proud to have members in Australia, India, Israel, Lebanon, Malaysia and Singapore.

NEW DEVELOPMENT

An exciting new innovation coming soon to AirSP is the creation of a dedicated Arbitrators listing on the website. This feature is currently in the final stages of development and will enable Insurance Arbitrators from across the world to advertise their expertise, experience and location to the market through the medium of an established Insurance Association. It is anticipated that this service will be of considerable interest to Independent Arbitrators wishing to break into an often closed arena. It will also give the market a wealth of untapped information about the professional Arbitration services available including fee rates and experience.

This new feature will be brought in with a new website designed to introduce a fresh updated appearance and easier to access information to both members and other visitors to the site.

AirSP is run by its members for its members. Perhaps part of the reason that even in this tough market AirSP is continuing to go places!
